Increasing and decreasing the magnification; changing range magnification; switching to Full Screen view; splitting the window; removing, freezing and unfreezing panes

Working with Multiple Sheets

Using multiple worksheets; navigating between, selecting single and multiple, renaming, inserting, deleting, and printing selected worksheets

Managing Worksheets

Copying and moving worksheets, using grouped worksheets and functions in worksheets, moving and copying data between sheets, creating 3-D formulas

Working with Outlines

Applying, expanding, collapsing, and clearing an outline, modifying outline settings, using Auto Outline

Working with HTML Files

Saving a range as an HTML file, opening an HTML file, creating a hyperlink

Using Paste Special

Using Paste Special; copying formats, values, and formulas between sheets; performing mathematical operations

Using Range Names

Using Range names; assigning, applying, deleting, and jumping to a named range; using range names in formulas and 3-D formulas; creating names from headings; naming and referencing 3-D ranges

Using Labels in Formulas

Using labels in formulas, labels to define a range, and multiple stacked headings; identifying individual cells

Using Multiple Workbooks

Opening multiple workbooks, cascading and tiling windows, activating tiled and cascaded windows, copying text between workbooks, opening and saving a workspace, closing all open windows

 

Module 4 - Charts, Graphics, and Files

Synopsis

This course covers basic worksheet enhancements. It includes tasks to create and edit charts, and draw objects. The student will also learn how to use advanced AutoShapes and manage data and files.

Users familiar with the basics of Excel 97 who want to enhance worksheets using charts and graphics

Using, creating, moving, resizing, printing, and deleting charts; identifying and formatting chart objects; moving the chart toolbar; changing the chart type, the plot direction, the text orientation, and the chart range; adding and removing the legend; adding a data table

  • Editing Charts
  • Editing charts; changing the chart type/sub-type, the data source, chart options, and the chart location; adding chart titles; moving the legend; printing a chart sheet

  • Drawing an Object
  • Working with drawing objects; displaying the drawing toolbar; drawing a rectangle; selecting, moving, adding text to, selecting text in, and resizing an object; changing the fill, font, and line color; adding a shadow and a 3-D effect; applying a 3-D setting

  • Drawing Additional Objects
  • Drawing a line, an oval, a text box, and an arrow; changing the line and arrow style; changing to a dash style; removing object fill; editing text in a text box; deleting an object

  • Using Advanced AutoShapes
  • Using advanced AutoShapes; drawing stars and banners, a callout, a basic shape, a connector, a curved line, a flowchart shape, and a block arrow

  • Managing Data
  • Sorting lists, sorting in ascending and descending order, finding and replacing data

  • Using different file views; searching for, sorting, selecting, and copying files; searching by text, date, and file name criteria; clearing search criteria
