Using electronic mail, practicing e-mail etiquette, starting and exiting Outlook Express, using the Outlook Express window and the folder list, hiding and displaying window elements, displaying the message list/preview pane, sizing the panes, hiding the folder list and the preview pane, moving the toolbar, changing the preview pane position

  • Sending E-mail Messages
  • Composing, spell checking, sending, attaching a file to, inserting a text file in, and formatting an e-mail message

  • Receiving, Replying, and Forwarding
  • Retrieving, reading, replying to, and forwarding an e-mail message; viewing a file attachment

  • Managing Mail and Folders
  • Marking e-mail messages as read/unread, finding and sorting e-mail messages in a folder, creating a new folder, setting folder columns, moving and copying messages between folders, printing e-mail messages, using the Inbox Assistant, compacting and deleting a folder, deleting a message

  • Using the Address Book
  • Opening the Address Book, adding a new contact and a new Address Book group, viewing an entry's properties, addressing a message, deleting an entry from the Address Book

  • Setting Outlook Options
  • Opening the Options dialog box; setting general, send, read, font, spelling, Secure Mail, and advanced options; setting security in Outlook Express; setting dial up connections
