Inserting the date and time, symbols, and special characters; assigning and removing a shortcut key

Using Auto Format

Setting AutoFormat options, using AutoFormat while typing, reviewing AutoFormat changes, changing templates

Working with Tables

Creating, navigating, and entering text into a table; inserting a blank line; using Table AutoFormat and the Draw Table button; hiding and showing gridlines; converting text into a table

Editing a Table

Selecting cells, rows, columns, table text, and the entire table; adding rows and columns to a table; merging and splitting cells; rotating text in a table; changing cell options and column width; deleting rows and columns; converting a table into text; placing headers on all pages

Applying Borders and Shading

Adding a border to text and to a table, removing a border, adding and removing shading

Working with Graphics

Inserting a clip art image; sizing , positioning , and wrapping text around a graphic; changing graphic image color; adjusting brightness and contrast

Drawing Objects and Lines

Working with and creating drawing objects; displaying the Drawing toolbar; selecting and resizing a drawn object; changing the fill color, 3-D settings, the line style, the line color, and the dash style; adding a 3-D effect; drawing a line

Working with Columns

Creating and navigating newspaper columns, changing the number of and adding a line between columns, changing column width and spacing, balancing column length

Using AutoCorrect

Setting AutoCorrect options, creating and deleting an AutoCorrect entry, creating a formatted entry, creating AutoCorrect exceptions

Using AutoText

Creating, inserting, and deleting an AutoText entry

Using Custom Dictionaries

Creating, activating, and deactivating a custom dictionary; adding words during a spell check; adding text to and deleting text from a custom dictionary

Using Find and Replace

Using Find, Find options, and Replace; finding special characters and a format

Using the Thesaurus

Looking up synonyms and antonyms, using synonyms and antonyms

Working with Hyphenation

Hyphenating a document manually and automatically, changing the hyphenation zone

Managing Files

Selecting view options, searching for files and text, clearing search criteria, sorting the listed files, using the shortcut menu, copying files

Using Wizards

Using wizards, creating a memo and a fax

Customizing Word Preferences

Setting the font attributes, Normal view options, Page Layout options, and Save options; changing the page settings; modifying file locations

Using Word HTML Features

Saving in HTML file format, using hyperlink automatic formatting, linking to a page and a location in a page, browsing linked pages and locations, editing a hyperlink

Using Outline View

Creating, collapsing, expanding, and numbering an outline; working in Outline view; viewing outline levels and all levels, moving an outline item, displaying outline text formats
